“The Hellenic Initiative Canada” (THI Canada) managed to raise a whopping $200,000 on May 30, as a result of hosting its second-ever ”Annual Montreal Cocktail” event.
The night was dedicated to and focused on the amazing work of doctors who help the most vulnerable and those in need in Greece.
Held in the heart of the old city of Montreal, the gala event was a huge success as it hosted more than 400 people who were happy to help support healthcare in Greece.
The monies raised will assist many Greek individuals and families who need medical support but whose situation does not allow them to fully access their right to wellbeing.
Thank you Montreal for showing your love and support!!! In one amazing evening you helped us raise $200,000 for our supported charities! We are grateful! #THI_Canada #OliMazi #ForGreece pic.twitter.com/7dISgb9fUj

The Hellenic Initiative was launched several years ago to tackle the effects of Greece’s unprecedented financial crisis, a downturn which plunged many Greeks into near-poverty, changing the lives of millions of people forever.
The economic depression of the past decade changed Greek society dramatically, and despite the significant improvements of the last few years, the scars of the crisis are still visible.
The Hellenic Initiative notes on its website that together with its relief partners, it is answering the call for assistance by providing a critical safety net to families hardest hit by the crisis.
