Greek Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura recently met with Ontario Tourism Minister Michael Tibollo in Toronto to exchange strategies and further promote Greek tourism in Canada.
Tibollo congratulated Kountoura for Greece’s success in tourism and asked to learn more about about Greek national tourism policy. He was very impressed with the nation’s practices, which have been implemented over the last four years and have led to record numbers of tourists visiting Greece.
Kountoura also expressed her approval of the steady double-digit growth in Canadian tourists visiting Greece, and she discussed tourism strategies for the year 2019.
Tibollo thanked Kountoura for sharing extensive information on tourism development issues, and he stressed the economic benefits of increased tourism growth between Greece and the province of Ontario.
They also discussed the possibilities of promoting specific activities in Ontario related to the fields of culture, sport and education which would contribute to the further promotion of Greece and Greek tourism.
