The Vancouver Greek Summer Fest returns once again for its 32nd consecutive year running until Sunday, July 15.
The annual celebration of food, entertainment, and family fun is held at Saints Nicholas and Dimitrios church, located at 4541 Boundary Road.
Apart from the famous BBQ lamb which is available in whole on a spit, the menu also includes well-known Greek entrees such as souvlaki, chicken dinners and gyro dinners. For smaller meals the selection includes chicken or pork souvlaki wraps or plain with bread, as well as the well-known Greek gyro.
There are many options for vegetarians as well, which include dishes such as spanakopita and tiropita dinners, also smaller appetizers such as tzatziki, homous, pita and fries.
This year’s entertainment includes the bands Zougla, Urban Myth, Asi Somos, Dalaras Tribute Band, Dolphin Jazz, Jim Byrnes, Legendary Blues Musician, as well as tribute artists Gotta B George Michael and Steve “Elvis” Ellios.
DJ services will be provided by Alpha Music and bouzouki music by Yannis Sahamis.
The Vancouver Greek Summer Fest which is in East Vancouver at the Burnaby border, is free to attend. Tens of thousands of people of all ages from areas all over the Lower Mainland and visitors from around the world, also attend.
