Off The Hook (OTH), which has already been a staple of the Montreal streetwear scene, cooperated with California based Vans OTW company to tell highly engaged fashion consumers across the world an all-new wonderful story.
Their extraordinary pair of shoes, featuring a white waffle sole, well contrasted with a rich grey suede on the upper hand, with the letter A (Alpha) embossed on the right shoe and Ω (Omega) on the left, is tastefully embellished with white and blue stripes, in an effort to celebrate the boutique owners’ Greek heritage, paying simultaneous homage to Quebec, the Canadian city that offered itself willingly to become a hospitable place of art expression.
During this collaboration, Larose Paris’s Quebec designer Isaac Larose, Dapper Dan’s photographer Vassilis Karidis and stylist Nicholas Georgiou created an inspired lookbook that will guide OTH’s fans through a journey to the spirit of today’s youth in Athens.
OTH’s Greek owners, Angelo Destounis and Harry Drakopoulos, who have also collaborated with Adidas and DC Shoes in the past, shared with Vice magazine in Greece: “We have designed five shoes in collaboration with Vans company, so far. Vans’ people approached us, four years ago, intrigued by the uniqueness of our shop.”
And they continued, saying: “For this reason, we opened an indoor boutique on the 2nd floor of our shop to host the creations from our collaboration with Vans. This place reflects our mentality. We create, twice a year, our own pair of shoes (VANS x OTH), which has always its own special character, a story to narrate and unique innovative elements to present.”
