The Greek Heritage Month of Vancouver will come to an end on Sunday, June 28, with the celebration of Greek Day, an award-winning family-friendly event that has been attraction more than 100,000 people every year since 1974.

Greek Day 2015 will take place at 3200 West Broadway Street from 11am to 9pm and will include numerous events and activities, as well as food and wine tastings. Furthermore, two music stages will be set up featuring traditional Greek music, dances and singing performances by local Greek-Canadian groups and associations, such as the Philhellenic Dance Group, Fasolakia Diaspora and The Cretan Association of BC.

Greek Day 2015 will also provide workshops on Greek cuisine, where Vancouver chefs will show visitors how to make some of Greece’s best delicacies, from Greek coffee to giouvetsi and dolmades.

But the fun does not stop there. The Kids Zone will host various activities such as face painting, gardening and Greek alphabet learning, while children will also be able to play in the bouncy castle that the organizing team will have set up.

Finally, the venue will include a Hellenic Experience Tent, so that visitors can get a glimpse of the Greek culture and way of living. Experts will showcase the many uses of olive oil and its benefits in skin care.

Admission will be free for everyone, while more information about the schedule can be found on the event’s official website.
