Daily Secret Launches Campaign to Promote Greece

Monastiraki-Square-AthensThe Daily Secret Insiders guide will be launching a new marketing campaign in Canada and the U.S. to promote Greece as a holiday destination.

Daily Secret is a Greek digital media brand for premium audiences. It is a web service which sends daily email newsletters revealing hidden city spots of particular interest, such as funky bars and restaurants, cozy cafeterias, innovative shops and local secrets in more than 40 cities worldwide. It is headquartered in New York and in Athens, serving over 1.8 million subscribers every day.

In collaboration with the Greek National Tourism Organization (EOT) and ThinkDigital, a major European digital media network, Daily Secret will be organizing a two-month campaign for the purpose of promoting Greece in Canada and the U.S. and to make the country a preferred holiday destination for Canadian and American tourists.

Daily Secret will be compiling five thematic travel guides with unique and innovative tourist spots in Greece and interactive maps, based on five different traveler types. Subscribers, after discovering their travel preferences through a mini-quiz, will receive a travel guide tailored to their specific needs, which promises them an unforgettable holiday experience in Greece. Moreover, all participants will enter a competition for an all-expenses-paid trip to the Greek island of Amorgos.

“Nothing inspires our audience more than travel content. This campaign showcases Daily Secret’s strength in the category,” said Nikos Kakavoulis, Founder & CEO of the website. This marketing campaign is also a major deal for the partnership of the company with ThinkDigital, which was announced last February.

Tourism plays a critical role in the economic recovery of Greece. According to the Greek Ministry of Tourism, the tourism industry will grow 10% in 2014.
