Montreal will host the works of the conference of the National Hellenic Student Association of America (NHSA) in winter 2013, which will be held in the space of the Hellenic Community of Greater Montreal, most likely from Oct. 25-27.
It is the first time that the conference will take place in Montreal and according to the organizers more than 200 expatriate academic students, professors and participants form the Universities of the USA and Canada are expected to attend the conference.
Speaking to AMNA, the Consul General of Greece in Montreal, Thanos Kafopoulos, after calling Montreal the second most important student town of North America with four internationally recognized academic institutions, noted: “A dynamic group of students of Greek descent of Montreal was formed in order to claim and organize the conference. This group can constitute the core to further sensitize the young people of Diaspora on issues concerning Hellenism, in a town where more than 70,000 expatriates live”.
NHSA is the organization which coordinates the actions of the Greek student associations in North America.
