The Consul General of Greece in Montreal, Thanos Kafopoulos, was declared an honorary, lifetime member of the Hellenic Community of Greater Montreal in a special ceremony organized by the Hellenic Community Center.
The President of the community, Nicholas Pagonis, gave the Consul General the honorary plaque, on which is written, “The Hellenic Community of Greater Montreal gratefully proclaims the Right Honorable Consul General of Greece Mr. A. Kafopoulos an Honorary member of the Community for his dedication, creativity, great interest and his support to the Greeks of Montreal.”
The Ambassador of Greece to Canada, Eleftherios Anghelopoulos, Senator Leo Housakos, City Councillor Mary Deros, were some of the speakers, who referred to the creative involvement and support of the Consul General in the Hellenic Community of Greater Montreal and especially in the daily Greek schools “Socrates” and “Demosthenes.”
On his part, Kafopoulos thanked the Community for the honor to be proclaimed an honorary member.
