Kefalogianni Boosts Greek Tourism in Canada

KefalogianiTourism Minister, Olga Kefalogianni, conducted important meetings in Toronto on June 8 with the leadership of Air Canada Rouge, Air Transat and Canadian Tourism Commission, in her effort to promote Greece’s tourism product in the Canadian market. The minister gave interviews on financial news television network BNN, the great Canadian channel CTV and the widely circulated newspaper Toronto Star.

The Minister attended the event, Hellenic Heritage Foundation, where Mike Lazaridis, the  founder of Blackberry was awarded with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Kefalogianni talked about the Greek tourism and the positive climate around the macroeconomic perspective of Greece, and called Diaspora Greeks to visit Greece this year.

During the event, Stelios Vasilakis, responsible for the Strategy and Foundation Youth Programs “Stavros Niarchos”   announced that the institution will offer one million U.S. dollars to the York University in Toronto.

The event was attended among others by Metropolitan Sotirios of Canada, Greece’s ambassador to Canada, Eleftherios Angelopoulos, Consul General of Greece in Toronto, Dimitris Azemopoulos, and other celebrities and anonymous of the Greek community in Toronto.
