Greek-Canadian Author Pens Drama Set in Peloponnese

A new novel, Nicolai’s Daughters, about a young Canadian lawyer in search of her half-sister, uses the Peloponnese as a backdrop for its story.

Alexia travels to the town of Diakofto in Greece to fulfill her father’s dying wish of finding her half-sister. Surrounded by a culture she is none too familiar with, and in a country struggling with financial crisis, Alexia is awakened to new things, including a family hiding many secrets. The Sarinopoulos’, haunted by war and the tragedy in Kalavryta, are also the subject for village gossip. Told in alternating voices of Alexia and Nicolai, who each return to Greece to mourn a loss and find solace, Nicolai’s Daughters uncovers the secret shame of a family who refuse to heal until the truth is revealed.

The book’s author, Stella Leventoyannis Harvey, was born in Cairo, Egypt and moved to Calgary as a child. Nicolai’s Daughters is her first published novel and will be available via Amazon, Kobo Books, Sony, Barnes & Noble, and iBooks.
