The Greek community of Toronto will play host for recently arrived Greek immigrants on May 3 at 6:30pm.
The purpose of the meeting, titled “Aid,” is to welcome Greeks migrating to Canada due to the financial crisis, and to inform them about their obligations and their rights as well.
The members of the community will share all the practical issues they will be engaged with, such as certificates, legal and work rights, and education.
After the meeting, all the material collected by the Hellenic Diaspora will be available on the community’s website, so that even those who did not attend the meeting or those who aim to migrate to Canada soon, will also be informed.
Volunteer groups have already begun to collect useful information for incoming Greeks. They want to provide them with all the necessary answers to their inquiries upon arrival, including the conditions under which someone could migrate to Canada or how they could assert their rights.
Repatriated Greek-Canadians may also find all the important information, in regards to job vacancies and work issues, at the May 3 community meeting.
