Riots in Greece Triumph in Canadian Media

Canadian media focused on Greek riots in the city of Athens that occurred on Sunday as Greece’s politicians were voting for the new austerity plan in order to prevent the country from going bankrupt.

There were various reports in Canadian media describing a volatile scene, including businesses that were destroyed and dozens of shops looted throughout Athens.

Canadian correspondents to Greece also described the clashes between police and protesters, and the fact that police were firing tear gas and stun grenades.
