Greek Canadian Fraggedaki Runs for Municipal Adviser

Maria Fraggedaki will be taking part in the upcoming 2010 Municipal elections. Maria is a Municipal Adviser candidate in the region of Ward 29 – Toronto – Danforth Ave.  She aspires to be the first Greek politician in the Town Hall. Born to Cretan parents, Maria grew up in the East York region and learned Greek in Toronto’s Greek schools. Michael Prue, former mayor of East York, Danforth Peter Tabuns, the provincial deputy of the region of Toronto, and Antonis Artemakis are all supporting Maria.

Maria has a career in the organization of congresses and she volunteers at the foundation of the Broadview Community Youth Group (BCYG), which helps young people to be more self-confident by offering their support to people in need. Maria appreciates the arts through her voluntary efforts and collaborations with museums and art galleries. She lives in East York and is a graduate of history and political science at the University of Toronto and holds a postgraduate degree  in political science. She is proud of her Greek roots and wants the voice of Greece to be heard in the Town hall Ward 29 in Toronto.
