Positive Reviews for 37 Greek Wineries in Montreal

wineMany eminent wine critics of Quebec and representatives of the catering industry took part in the exhibition of Greek wines, which was held in Montreal by the National Interprofessional Organization of Vine and Wine.

More than 37 Greek wineries presented their wines, reaping positive reviews from the wine critics who praised the new era in Greek wine production.

The director of the beverage alcohol consulting company, “All About Greek Wine,” Sofia Perpera stated:  “Montreal is the most rapidly rising market. People in Montreal love the wines produced in Europe as they harmoniously accompany food. Therefore, our exports in Quebec have increased by almost 40% over the last four years.”

Perpera pointed out that the Quebec Alcohol Corporation (SAQ) has established June as the “Month of the Greek Wine” which has had impressive results in the promotion of Greek wines.

The Consul General of Greece in Montreal, Thanos Kafopoulos claimed that the dramatic increase in Greek wine imports in Quebec is due to the excellent quality of the new Greek production. He also noted that Quebec can import two million bottles of wine.

The presentation of Greek wines included a seminar on the types of Greek wines and grape varieties.
