Greek baked goods, pastries and pasta have a significant presence in Canada, with 50 % increase in the value of their imports over the last three years, from 1.9 million Canadian dollars in 2010 to 3 million Canadian dollars in 2013.

Many of the major Greek pastry industries export their products to Canada, while even some local producers have achieved their entry into this highly competitive market, with springboard the specificity and excellent quality of their products, their impact on the large Diaspora community as well as the competitive prices.

A document of the Office for Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Embassy of Greece in Ottawa said that the Greek frozen puff pastry market is very promising. The facilitation of the consumer remains the main reason for the supply of frozen meals.
