McGill University announced during a ceremony on May 30 that it has received a $1.1-million gift from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. McGill University is a public research university located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Last year the Stavros Niarchos Foundation also established annual scholarships for Greek postgraduate students at the University of Ottawa, in Ontario, Canada.
The recently announced scholarships will be awarded annually to talented applicants from Greece, who want to pursue a masters or doctoral degree across a wide array of graduate programs at McGill’s. Each fellowship recipient will receive funding for up to two years of study. The first fellowship will be awarded in the fall of 2014.
