It always feels good when someone can afford, especially during the Christmas holidays, to put a smile on someone’s face by giving them a gift.
Like every year, Montreal’s Greek Community Social Services took the initiative again, and are ready to hand out many Christmas baskets to 100 families in need by Christmas Day.
The baskets with food, sweets and games, are primarily given to the elderly and to single-parent families. Among the people who were hit hard financially are some newly arrived Greek immigrants, and immigrants of Greek descent.
Yesterday, Montreal’s Housing Community for the Elderly held the annual Christmas lunch for seniors with offers from around the Greek Community of Montreal.
” Montreal’s Greek Community Social Services every year make their Christmas contribution to both the Greek and the Quebec community” stated Director, Helen Fakotaki.
