Nick Cassavetes’ ‘Yellow’ to Premiere at Toronto Film Festival

From Nick Cassavetes’ “Yellow”

The Toronto Film Festival has just added a bunch of world premieres to its programming slate. Included in the premiere line-up is Nick Cassavetes’ film “Yellow,” starring Sienna Miller, Ray Liotta, Melanie Griffith, Riley Keough, Lucy Punch, and Luke Wilson.

Described as Cassavetes’ “seminal” work, “Yellow” is a drama that revolves around a young woman who becomes addicted to the painkiller vicodin; hallucinations ensue involving circus freaks, farm animals and a few other interesting characters. The film does not have a distributor yet, but could pick one up at the Toronto Film Festival.

Also in the mix is the international premiere of Iannis Smaragdis’ film, “God Loves Caviar,” a drama based in the 18th century.

The Festival runs September 6-16, with more announcements expected in the coming weeks.
