Deka Awards were given on May 17 by the Hellenic Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal to Greek businesses, as well as to distinguished business figures, who excelled during the last year in the broader area of Montreal.
Greek Consul of Canada, Eleftherios Angelopoulos, was one of the main speakers of theĀ event and called on successful business people to support Greece by investing “now that it is a great opportunity.”
A Hellenism Award was given to Thanos Kafopoulos, Consul General of Greece in Montreal, on his contribution to the promotion of Greek culture and issues concerning young and elderly people in Montreal.
A Community Service was awarded to the American Hellenic Progressive Association; Retail/Distribution to telecommunication company Planet Mobile/Rogers; Innovation to Crescendo Systems Corp.; Small business to Panamas restaurant; Professional to Chartered Accountant Tasso Lagios; Entrepreneur to Sonic Athletics company; Business Services to Moov Inc.; President’s Award to Constant America, and the Executive to Central Bernard.
President of the Hellenic Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, George Tsitouras, referred to the progress of Greek companies in Montreal and the need to be connected with the Board of Trade.
