According to a letter sent by the chairman of the Greek Community of Toronto, Nikonas Georgakopoulos, the Community expresses a strong opposition to the temporary leader of the Liberal Party, Bob Rae, due to the salutation of the Independence day of Fyrom as Democracy Day of Macedonia.
According to the letter, many Greeks are very disappointed and have become against Bob Rae.
It seemed that the leader of the Liberal Party did not take into account Canada’s recognition of Skopia under its temporary name as FYROM.
Many citizens of Greek origin have uploaded posts on the website of the Liberal Party, denouncing the statement from its temporary leader.
