Greek-Canadians Celebrate Easter Very Traditionally

The twelve Greek Orthodox churches in Montreal were flooded with people on Saturday evening.
Defying the cold, the Greeks of Montreal went to the churches in the center and around the city praying for the big celebration of Christianity.
The Metropolitan of Canada, Sotirios, in his Easter message, underlined among all: “If you live in this life the Resurrection of Christ and your heart is burning, full of joy, full of happiness, think how you will feel in the afterlife. Think of your own resurrection in the second Coming of Christ. In the resurrection of all the dead and equitable. Think of  your joy and happiness there. Risen, you can follow the risen Christ and constantly rise with him. Rising where? From glory to glory. Participating in the infinite glory of the infinite God. ”
The Greeks in Montreal despite the weather, baked the traditional lamb in the ovens of their homes, setting up festivals with folk music behind the wet glass. The red eggs, the biscuits and the brioches have been part of the traditional Easter scene that brings families of the Greek community together.
