Greek Independence Day
It is with great pleasure that I extend my warmest greetings to Canadians of Hellenic descent marking Greek Independence Day and the Greek Orthodox Feast of the Annunciation.
Greece has a proud past marked by momentous achievements, epic struggles and enduring aspirations. This is an occasion for Greek Canadians to celebrate this inspiring story and the shared history between our two nations.
Strong bilateral relations have benefitted both Canada and Greece. The ties of kinship and friendship that connect us have created unique opportunities for cultural, economic and social exchange. As the Hellenic community celebrates this special occasion, Canada is proud to join with you to commemorate the hope, challenges and accomplishments that have shaped Greek history.
