Important cultural events by Greek-Canadians in Montreal

Jules David (1783-1854), a prominent Hellenist and philhellene, the son of painter Louis David, was the author of a work on comparing the ancient and modern Greek language (1820), a method for learning modern Greek and an Ancient Greek-French dictionary, which remains unpublished.
Two university events are being organised within the next few weeks in Montreal. The first is organised by the Modern Greek Studies Centre of Montreal University and involves the presentation of a book by Jean Antoine Caravolas, entitled: “Jules David and Hellenic Studies 1783-1854”.
