A letter of sympathy to the General Governor of Canada, Michael Jean, who comes from Haiti, was recently sent by the Metropolitan of Canada, his Eminence Sotirios (foto).
In his letter towards Ms. Jean, the Metropolitan of Canada states that: “As you were born in Haiti, I can understand your feelings and grief. Our Prime Minister, Steven Harper, our Government and the people of Canada share the pain of the people of Haiti and I thank God that everyone is handling the issue in the most appropriate manner”.
With his letter towards the Churches of Canada, he encouraged them to raise funds for the victims of the quake. The funds will then be sent in the form of a cheque from the Metropolitan Church of Canada to Haiti for relief of the victims.
