An exhibition at the Canadian Museum of Civilization here presents a selection of 194 exquisite objects from the Benaki Museum collections that cover a chronological span of eight thousand years. The exhibition offers a spectacular panorama of the creativity of the Greek world from antiquity and the age of Roman domination to the medieval Byzantine period, from the fall of Byzantium followed by centuries of Frankish and Ottoman occupation to the outbreak of the struggle for independence and the formation of the Modern Greek State.
The exhibition lasts until September 28th, 2008 and is jointly organized by the Benaki Museum in collaboration with the Canadian Museum of Civilization.
